The Department of Agriculture through the Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries granted the Moringaling Philippines Foundation, Inc. its Certificate of Accreditation last June 2020. The accreditation covers R&D, production and marketing of Moringa.
This feat was MPFI’s advocacy to raise awareness on the benefits and potential source of income in moringa. It is also its goal for moringa to be part of the diet of every Filipino household. Likewise, engaging in moringa production is a good income generating endeavor.
It is the message of Secretary William D. Dar that MPFI is now a partner of the Department of Agriculture in implementing projects. MPFI is encourage to submit proposals proposals to DA to further enhance and establish the moringa industry.
Several activities of MPFI include trainings and technical assistance on production and management, processing of moringa into value- added products. MPFI member SBE Farms in Rosales, Pangasinan has been a venue for trainings on organic moringa production and processing. Likewise, Terra Verde Eco-Farm in Maragondon, Cavite include moringa as one of its major crop being grown and managed by its trainees. Both of which were also Accredited Learning Sites by the DA- Agricultural Training Institute (ATI).
This milestone will pave way for more stakeholders’ collaboration and strengthening the moringa industry. This can’t be achieved without the tireless efforts of its Managing Director Bernadette E. Arellano, MPFI Members of the Board and volunteer consultants.
